Michael Jackson at his best.
Michael Jackons’s album Off the Wall (1979) did quite well with 10 million copies sold. The years between Off the Wall and Thriller were great for Michael, although he became deeply unhappy; Jackson said, “Even at home, I’m lonely. I sit in my room sometimes and cry. It’s so hard to make friends … I sometimes walk around the neighborhood at night, just hoping to find someone to talk to. But I just end up coming home.
Obviously, Michael Jackson went on to become one of the greatest acts that has ever existed. Up there with Elvis Presley and the Beatles.
Sadly, he was accused of child sexual abuse of an fan well below the age of consent in 1993 as he started his history album.
He ultimately avoided litigation on the initial allegations of child abuse which also included allegations that he was in possession of child abuse material , but his lawyers did successfully defend him at trial on later unrelated allegations of child sexual abuse.
The horrific nature of the allegations against him followed him for the rest of his career, and ultimately even in death these allegations still haunt him despite the fact he was never convicted of any of these charges.
